A TensorFlow Veteran Moves to Oracles
El Moujahid built TensorFlow into what the release called the world's top open-source machine learning platform, reaching 300 million downloads under his watch1. He had also run Facebook's Messenger app earlier in his career, where its chat bot, M, grew to 200 million monthly users. Sergey Nazarov, Chainlink's co-founder, named that record as the reason for the hire. “Kemal has a track record of world changing success, he was most recently responsible for building TensorFlow into the world's leading machine learning platform and ecosystem,” Nazarov said. “His work there helped to define the machine learning industry and enable millions of developers to be successful using that technology. I am excited to have him join Chainlink Labs to replicate that success in the blockchain industry”.
A reply from the new product chief followed. “I couldn't be more excited to join Chainlink Labs at such a pivotal time in blockchain and oracle development,” El Moujahid said. “I believe that smart contracts are radically changing the world for the better and Chainlink is in a unique position to accelerate this by enabling millions of developers and builders to take this disruption to new heights”1.
Part of a Wider Hiring Run
Chainlink Today named two other new hires in its own story on May 16, 20222. Dahlia Malkhi had run tech at the Diem Association. She joined Chainlink Labs as chief research officer. Mike Derezin, once a vice president at LinkedIn, had joined months earlier to run operations. Chainlink's release also named two advisors: former Google chief Eric Schmidt and Stanford code expert Dan Boneh1.
What came next
Chainlink Labs' chief product officer title had passed to Apurva Joshi by Nov. 4, 2025, when the company's own site credited her with the role in its SmartCon 2025 keynote recap3. Joshi still held the title on Nov. 13, 2025, when Bitget News reported her telling the same conference that Chainlink was "powering nations"4.
