OpenSea sells NFTs and other crypto assets. On Oct. 20, it opened its mobile app to everyone. Before that day, only some testers could use it. OpenSea posted the news straight from its own account.
The post used plain words. It said OpenSea Mobile is now open to everyone. The app covers memes, art, trading cards, and perps. Perps are contracts that bet on a price move. The app works across more than 25 blockchains. Users can hold many wallets inside one app.
The post picked up real traffic fast. It passed 1,982 likes within a day. It drew 603 replies in that stretch. It also picked up 341 reposts.
OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer added his own note. He pointed to a gap in crypto trading today. Trading talk lives on many separate apps right now. Finzer wants one shared place for that talk. The app also pulls in data from Fomo, Pump, and Farcaster. Those are other crypto trading and social tools. Users can follow traders and watch their trades live. OpenSea also cut its trading fees by 10 percent.
Why did a mobile app launch spread this far? NFT trading slowed hard over the past two years. A single app that covers memes, cards, and perps feels new again. That mix says something about crypto today. Traders want fewer apps, each doing more work. OpenSea bets that one app can hold their full crypto life. The early numbers back that bet so far. Whether that holds past launch week stays an open question.
The app lets users fund a new wallet with Apple Pay. That makes it easier for new users to start trading fast. OpenSea said future updates will improve how the feed picks content. It also plans more ways for users to customize their profile. For now, OpenSea's bet rests on this first wave of new users.
