Jason Brink resigned as Gala Games' president of blockchain on May 17, 2024, closing a stretch at the company that had passed the four-year mark weeks earlier. He announced the move himself, in a post on X. “I have been with @PoweredByGala for four years now…in fact, it just passed four years officially a couple weeks ago. I believe so incredibly strongly in the ecosystem that I have decided to make a change in the interest of decentralization and community growth,” Brink wrote1.

Brink, who posts under the handle BitBender, kept working on the same ecosystem from outside it. He and a group of colleagues set up an outside organization called LFG, short for Let's Fight Giants, to keep building GalaChain and its node network from beyond the company's walls1. BlockchainGamer.biz reported his exit on May 21, 2024, four days after the post. “After four years at Gala Games, its president of blockchain Jason Brink (aka BitBender) has posted an official statement with his resignation, albeit to become an unpaid advisor. A few other team members are also leaving the company,” the outlet wrote2.
What the resignation covers
Brink framed the split as a structural choice rather than a break with Gala. “This also means that we can do stuff we could never do while at Gala. We can advise groups much more directly, facilitating greater control to help you and your group accomplish what YOU want to do within the GalaChain Ecosystem,” he wrote1. BlockchainGamer.biz read the same logic in Brink's own words to its readers. “Brink argues this move better allows him and his allies to support external projects that are separate from Gala,” the outlet wrote, pointing to his promise that "I am never going to leave the GALA ecosystem"2. He traded his Gala paycheck for an unpaid advisory role at LFG, a step he said let him work with teams Gala's corporate structure kept at arm's length.
What the record shows
Brink's May 17, 2024, post names LFG as a group built to onboard developers to GalaChain and to help them deploy node workloads outside Gala's own platform1. The CryptoLately.com Desk searched for a later report on LFG's progress or Brink's work since the resignation and turned up only the announcement itself.
