“The Polymesh Association, which backs a blockchain built for regulated assets, named Bill Papp, a banking executive with more than 30 years in financial services, its chief executive on June 20, 2024. Does a career banker's arrival signal that a tokenization network is ready for institutions, or that it still needs one to explain it to them?”

The Polymesh Association named Bill Papp chief executive officer and executive director on June 20, 20241. His job: lead its “mission to tokenize assets and transform how financial securities are created and transacted”. Papp came from Arival Bank, a regulated digital bank for global businesses. He had served there as chief executive officer and a board member. The Bretton Woods Committee, where Papp is a member, confirmed the move on June 20, 2024, too. He had “over thirty years of financial services leadership experience in both the private and public sectors,” the group noted2.

      The move

Papp set out his own priorities in the Polymesh Association's announcement. “I am thrilled to lead the Polymesh Association at this pivotal time of tremendous growth and increased demand for its purpose-built blockchain for regulated assets,” he said. “Together we will build on Polymesh's strong foundation to serve its institutional customers, as well as continue to foster a collaborative team environment to ensure success for our employees and stakeholders.”1 Graeme Moore had led the Polymesh Association for the eight months before Papp's arrival. He stayed on as head of tokenization and endorsed the hire in the same release. “Bill's extraordinary experience as a senior banking and fintech executive, with extensive knowledge of digital assets, makes him the right choice to bring Polymesh to new heights,” Moore said. “He has an outstanding track record in business development, GTM Strategies and Team Leadership.”

      Polymesh Association before and after

Papp's earlier stops included BankProv, Pacific Premier Trust, the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, Mizuho Americas, Pacific Crest Securities and Prudential Securities, the Polymesh Association said1. His career began at Lehman Brothers. Five Massachusetts governors appointed him to public boards over the years. They were William Weld, Paul Cellucci, Jane Swift, Mitt Romney and Deval Patrick. The Polymesh Association is a nonprofit group that grows the Polymesh ecosystem. Polymesh is a public permissioned blockchain built for real-world asset tokenization, with a sister network, Polymesh Private.

      What the record shows

The Polymesh Association's release and the Bretton Woods Committee's notice, both dated June 20, 2024, describe the appointment and Papp's background12. A Google News search on October 3, 2026, looked for a later page on Papp at Polymesh. It returned two Polymesh releases on Business Wire, dated October 29, 2024 and March 24, 2025. Both failed to open for checking, so this brief leaves them aside.
