Jared Grey became Sushi's Head Chef on Oct. 3, 2022, when a Snapshot vote that closed at 12:00 UTC gave him 10.65 million of the 12.75 million votes cast, or 83.5 percent. CoinDesk reported the result that day, and Grey wrote a year later that he began work on Oct. 4. He held the title for 1,155 days, until Sushi announced on Dec. 1, 2025 that he would move to an advisory role and that Alex McCurry of Synthesis would take over as managing director.
