Algorand announced on July 27, 2022 that its chief operating officer, W. Sean Ford , had become interim chief executive, effective that day. G. Steven Kokinos , who had run the company since October 2018, was leaving to "pursue other interests" and would stay on as a senior advisor until mid-2023. Kokinos posted that he was “transitioning out of my current role as @Algorand’s CEO to focus on key projects in the @Algorand ecosystem that will help scale adoption,” Decrypt reported.
