Sean Lee left his post as chief executive of the Algorand Foundation on February 10, 2022, after more than 18 months in the role. The foundation's press release said Lee “has decided to begin the new year exploring career opportunities outside of the Algorand Foundation.” Warden, the release said, would succeed him. CoinDesk reported the same day that Warden had served on the foundation's board since September 2021. She stepped into the chief executive role "with immediate effect".
