The move
Chief executive Ben Gagnon described the work Wilson would take on. “Liam will play a critical role in developing and refining our operational procedures and systems with the goal of improving efficiencies,” Gagnon said1. Wilson answered with his own read of the company. “Having worked with the team on a consulting basis for the past six months, I've been impressed by the executive team's expertise, market leading site operations and best in class facilities throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America,” he said. “Under Ben's leadership, Bitfarms is entering an exciting new period of growth, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it”. Bitfarms said Wilson had transacted more than 900 megawatts of power across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Nebraska. He had also been chief operating officer of Mawson Infrastructure Group, a listed company.

Before and after
Wilson consulted for Bitfarms for six months before the August 13, 2024 announcement gave him his first Bitfarms title1. Gagnon said in the release that Bitfarms was still recruiting a senior vice president of mining operations and a vice president of HPC and AI. HPC means high-performance computing. After the appointment, Wilson worked on operations and systems under Gagnon, Bitfarms' chief executive.
What came next
Wilson kept the chief operating officer title through the company's rebrand as Keel Infrastructure in February 2026. He spoke for the company in Data Center Dynamics' April 29, 2026 report on Keel's data center in Sharon, Pennsylvania3. The city's zoning board had approved its expansion. “It's going to be a state-of-the-art facility, but it really also gives back so much to the community there,” Wilson said of the 110-megawatt project. Keel had developed the site since acquiring the former Westinghouse Electric property in October 2025. The approval carried a 70-decibel noise limit. Another condition barred Keel from drawing water from the nearby river, conditions the outlet tied to resident objections.
