Keel Infrastructure named Ganesh Aiyer president on July 6, 2026. The data center and energy company used to be Bitfarms. Aiyer will run its commercial strategy and pipeline expansion, the company said in its own release1. He came from Digital Realty Trust and has 25 years in growth and commercial strategy for data centers and tech, the release said. Aiyer reports to chief executive Ben Gagnon, who led Bitfarms through its rebrand as Keel in February 2026, five months earlier3.

The move
Gagnon welcomed Aiyer in the release. “We are thrilled to welcome Ganesh to the Keel crew at such an exciting time for the Company,” Gagnon said. “Ganesh has a strong track record of execution and understands how to build go-to-market strategies around differentiated products, and put in place the systems and teams that make growth repeatable and sustainable”1. Aiyer made his own case for the fit. “I have spent my career at the intersection of infrastructure and commercial strategy and believe Keel's portfolio is distinctly positioned to meet accelerating demand for HPC and AI infrastructure solutions,” he said. TheEnergyMag reported pay terms the company's release left out: a $500,000 base salary plus $1.5 million in restricted stock2.
Aiyer most recently served as chief business officer at Digital Realty Trust. That company owns more than 300 data centers across 25 countries. Before Digital Realty, Aiyer held senior roles at Schneider Electric and Dell Technologies12. Keel's development pipeline ran to 2.2 gigawatts across Pennsylvania, Washington and Québec. Keel said Aiyer's job is to turn that power and those sites into long-term customer contracts.
Before and after
July 6, 2026 gave Aiyer his first title at Keel Infrastructure. Before the hire, Keel's named leaders included chief executive Ben Gagnon and chief operating officer Liam Wilson, who spoke for Keel's Sharon site in April 20263. After the appointment, Aiyer reported to Gagnon as president1. His job was the commercial side of a business still turning Bitcoin mining sites into data centers for AI and high-performance computing.
What to watch
Keel's second-quarter 2026 results, as TradingView summarized them, gave the first numbers against Aiyer's mandate. Revenue fell 50 percent year over year, to $30.4 million, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The operating loss ran to $140.8 million, and the net loss reached $64.995 million, TradingView reported from the company's filing4. Keel held about $819 million in total liquidity as of August 7, 2026. Cash made up $698 million of that, and unencumbered Bitcoin made up $121 million more; Keel raised $458 million through a convertible note offering during the quarter. Keel also completed the decommissioning of its U.S. Bitcoin mining operations that quarter, to prepare sites for HPC construction. Watch whether Aiyer turns that liquidity and the 2.2-gigawatt site pipeline into signed customer contracts.
