      The move

BitGo's release spelled out a wide job. “In this role, Mr. Rozman will oversee BitGo's enterprise-wide compliance and financial crime programs, leading engagement with regulators, examiners, and banking authorities across BitGo's legal entities globally,” the release said1. Mike Belshe, BitGo's chief executive and co-founder, gave his reason for the hire. “Alex is a key addition to BitGo's leadership team as we aim to scale the business and drive innovation globally,” Belshe said.

Rozman gave his own reason too. “BitGo has built the infrastructure that institutions rely on to operate onchain, and I am excited by the opportunity to work with this remarkable team,” he said1. crypto.news quoted a second line from him: companies in digital finance need to treat compliance as "core infrastructure"2.

BitGo before and after Rozman's arrival

Before Exodus, Rozman led global compliance at Polygon Technology, BitGo's release said1. He also ran financial-crime compliance at CLS Bank International, a utility that settles global currency trades. Earlier still, he worked on money-laundering cases at Deloitte and at Navigant Consulting, now called Guidehouse. He sits on the board of the Association of International Bank Audit and Compliance Professionals.

crypto.news set the hire inside a bigger shift at BitGo. BitGo listed shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BTGO on January 22, 20262. In January 2026, BitGo's banking arm also came under federal supervision. Regulators at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency had approved the switch in December 2025. BitGo Trust Company became BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, and BitGo said it was running under that new charter by January 2026. Outside that federal bank, BitGo also holds a New York trust charter, a license in Germany, and a payments license in Singapore, crypto.news reported. Rozman's hire also came after a deal. BitGo finished buying NYDIG's institutional trading unit on August 27, 2026.

      What to watch

Rozman's start date, September 21, 2026, gives a clear marker to track1. BitGo's next quarterly filing will show how far his program reaches. crypto.news listed BitGo's regulated arms: the national trust bank, the New York trust company, and licensed units in Germany and Singapore2.
