Marieke Flament resigned as chief executive of NEAR Foundation on September 21, 2023. NEAR Foundation's general counsel, Chris Donovan , replaced her on September 21. “According to the Sept. 21 announcement, Chris Donovan, Near Foundation's general counsel, will replace Flament as the new CEO following the resignation,” Cointelegraph reported, adding that "Flament gave no specific reason for her departure." Donovan's turn in the job lasted 47 days. On November 7, 2023, NEAR Protocol's co-founder, Illia Polosukhin , took the chief executive title. Donovan moved to chief operating officer, U.Today reported the same day.
