On Aug. 13, 2025, Gavin Wood opened a post on Parity Technologies' blog with the words "Today I'm picking the baton back up." Wood co-founded Parity and designed Polkadot. He wrote that he would resume the CEO role in late August, “as my co-founder and friend Björn Wagner steps down after three game-changing years at Parity's helm and nine years in total with the team.” The post gives only "late August" for the handover, so The CryptoLately.com Desk dates both events to Aug. 13, the day of the announcement.
