Björn Wagner became CEO of Parity Technologies on Oct. 21, 2022, the day CoinDesk reported that co-founder Gavin Wood was giving up the title. Wood stayed on as majority shareholder with a new title, Chief Architect. Wagner held the job for 1,027 days, until Aug. 13, 2025. In those 2.8 years Parity cut about 30 percent of its staff and passed a signing app and the production of Polkadot Decoded to outside teams, while the Polkadot DAO raised its yearly treasury spending from $12 million in 2022 to $133 million in 2024.
