OKX SG named Gracie Lin chief executive on September 1, 2024, the day it announced that the exchange's Singapore entity had received a full Major Payment Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore1. The license lets OKX SG offer spot crypto trading and cross-border money transfer services to customers in Singapore under the Payment Services Act. OKX called the license and Lin's hire "significant milestones" in a market it named a "core" part of its global strategy.

The move
OKX SG had secured in-principle approval for the license back in February 20241. The release announced the full grant and Lin's appointment together, on September 1, 2024. “Singapore is a world-class digital asset hub and an important market for OKX. I am excited to be part of the team building our presence here. The MPI license is an important step in our journey, and we are more committed than ever to enabling access to digital assets for our customers, and contributing to the community and ecosystem,” she said. The Block reported the appointment on September 2, 20242. Lin had worked at MAS before joining OKX, the same regulator that had just licensed her new employer.
Lin's record before OKX
Lin spent nearly two decades across financial, public and technology roles before taking the CEO post1. She led the Regional Strategy & Economics team at the ride-hailing company Grab, the release said2. Before Grab, she worked at MAS and at GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund. That combination gave her, in the company's words, "extensive experience in management, operations, business strategy, and financial regulation". She holds an economics degree from the University of Chicago and a master's degree from Yale.
What came next
Prestige Online's Women of Power 2026 feature, published July 27, 2026, lists Lin's title as "Regional CEO (Singapore and Australia), OKX," a role that now covers two markets instead of one3. The profile describes OKX as a global exchange serving more than 60 million customers across 180 countries. Lin embraces change, the profile says. “Change is inevitable, but how we respond to it is a choice,” she said.
