The move
Trummer looked back to the founding. “Twelve years ago, we founded Bitpanda with a simple conviction: investing should be easier and more accessible,” Trummer said in Bitpanda's release. “I look forward to leading the company with Lukas and our teams as we continue to make Bitpanda more intuitive and capable, and create more value for the customers and partners we serve.”1 Bitpanda said Trummer would add executive focus on product. Bitpanda is building out its offering across crypto, stocks, funds and precious metals. Tools for financial firms are a second focus.
Eric Demuth is Bitpanda's executive chairman and president of the board. He framed the move as building on what Enzersdorfer-Konrad had already done. “Lukas has played a key role in building a more diversified business with strong foundations, and I thank him for his commitment,” Demuth said. “With Christian as Co-CEO, the company enters this next phase of growth from a position of strength.”1
Before and after the announcement
Trummer moved up from chief scientist, where he helped build Bitpanda's platform1. Enzersdorfer-Konrad became sole CEO in November 2025, when Demuth moved to executive chairman, FX News Group reported2. Bitpanda's board opened a search for Enzersdorfer-Konrad's successor on September 15, 2026, weighing internal and outside candidates. Bitpanda calls itself a broker for more than 650 crypto assets, nine indices, four metals and more than 10,000 stocks and funds. Registered users number more than 7 million, Bitpanda says, and its offices that include Vienna, Barcelona, Berlin and Dubai.
What to watch
The board's search will show whether Bitpanda picks an insider or an outsider for the top job. Product is the second signal. Watch for changes to Bitpanda's crypto, stock or metals offerings before Enzersdorfer-Konrad leaves in the first quarter of 20271. That is Trummer's brief.
