Signature Bank named Chief Operating Officer Eric R. Howell its president on Feb. 16, 2023, effective March 1, 2023. Co-founder Joseph J. DePaolo would move into a senior advisor role during 2023. CoinDesk reported on Feb. 16, 2023, that Howell would also take the chief executive title once DePaolo's transition finished. DePaolo kept the CEO role and his board seat during the handover.
