0G announced on February 13, 2025, that Dr. Ming Wu had joined the company as its new chief technology officer, according to a release distributed through Chainwire1. Wu co-founded Conflux Network and had served as its chief technology officer, the release said. ChainCatcher confirmed the appointment on February 13, 2025, too2. The release credited Wu's move to his talks with Michael Heinrich, 0G Labs' co-founder and chief executive.

The move
Wu explained his own reason for the switch in 0G's release. “I am excited to join 0G Labs and work alongside a team dedicated to decentralizing AI development,” he said. “Together, we will build systems that prioritize transparency, security, and accessibility, ensuring that AI technologies benefit all”1. Heinrich framed what Wu's arrival was meant to solve. “AI is transforming every facet of our lives, but its development has been largely centralized, raising concerns about transparency and control,” Heinrich said. “With dAIOS, we're building an open and decentralized AI Operating System that ensures security, transparency, and accessibility. Ming's expertise and leadership will be invaluable in accelerating our mission”.
0G Labs before and after Wu's arrival
At Conflux, 0G's release said Wu had helped address "the blockchain trilemma of scalability, decentralization, and security"1. His leadership there was "instrumental in establishing Conflux as a leading public blockchain platform," the release said. 0G said Wu's background in distributed systems positioned him to lead its technical work on dAIOS, a decentralized AI operating system meant to bridge AI and blockchain technology. ChainCatcher's own report stuck to confirming the appointment2.
What came next
More than a year later, on March 13, 2026, 0G announced a major upgrade3. The upgrade moved 0G's validator layer from Geth to the Reth client, and Wu, still chief technology officer, explained why in the company's release. “Geth served us well, but as on-chain AI workloads scale, inference settlement, agent transactions, high-frequency data availability, the execution layer becomes the bottleneck,” Wu said. “Reth's Rust-based architecture gives us the memory efficiency, parallel processing, and modular extensibility we need to stay ahead of that curve. This isn't just a client swap. It's rebuilding the foundation for what comes next”. The move began with 0G's own Foundation Validator in February 2026, the release said, before reaching the rest of the network.
