“Anchorage Digital hired a lawyer who spent nearly six years inside the SEC's enforcement division to run its own legal team. Does a former regulator in the general counsel's chair change how a crypto bank argues with Washington?”

Anchorage Digital named TuongVy Le general counsel on March 13, 2024, the crypto bank said on its own blog1. Le had spent almost six years at the SEC. She served first as senior counsel in the Division of Enforcement, then as chief counsel in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. Most recently, she worked as partner and head of regulatory policy for Bain Capital Crypto, and before that, as deputy general counsel and compliance officer at Worldcoin.

Crowdfund Insider reported that Le succeeded Georgia Quinn. Quinn had served as general counsel at Anchorage for three and a half years before moving into an advisor role2. Le is a graduate of Yale Law School. She began her career at a major international law firm, advising financial institutions and public companies, Anchorage's announcement said1. At the SEC, Le handled some of the Commission's earliest crypto investigations. She also worked with Congress, the Treasury Department and other agencies on digital asset rules, the company said.

      What the hire signals

Nathan McCauley, Anchorage's co-founder and chief executive, tied the hire to its regulatory record. “At Anchorage Digital, since our founding, we have committed to being a regulatory pioneer to best meet the needs of institutions in crypto,” McCauley said1. Le framed her own mandate around institutional demand in crypto. “Joining Anchorage Digital is not only a chance to lead a top-tier legal and policy team, but to help shape the future of digital asset regulation and support the industry at large,” Le said.

Anchorage Digital holds a federal bank charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In March 2024 it was the only crypto-native firm to hold one, the company said1. Le would also serve as a liaison to regulators as Anchorage grew, the announcement said.

      What came next

By June 30, 2026, Le had left Anchorage Digital for Veda, a decentralized finance vault platform. CryptoBriefing named her there as general counsel, in a report on stablecoin freeze mechanics3. The outlet quoted Le on blacklisting sanctioned wallets, a question close to her old enforcement work at the SEC.
