Michael Saylor stepped down as MicroStrategy Incorporated's chief executive officer on Aug. 2, 2022. He took the new title of executive chairman that same day, the company said in a press release. MicroStrategy also reported a $917.8 million bitcoin writedown that day, and President Phong Le became chief executive and joined the board.
