On May 6, 2019, Zilliqa announced that co-founder Xinshu Dong , its chief executive, was “stepping away from day-to-day operations and taking a more strategic role as a Director on the Board of Zilliqa.” The same note carries a first-person paragraph from co-founder Amrit Kumar : “I will now assume the role of President, in addition to my work as Chief Scientific Officer, and oversee the overall management and operating responsibilities of Zilliqa.” Zilliqa's mainnet had gone live 95 days earlier, on Jan. 31.
